Cloud Storage & Privacy
The following types of data may persist when using cloud storage services (vendor-agnostic).
- Uploaded files (documents, photos, videos, backups)
- File metadata (filename, size, format, modification dates, GPS location)
- Folder structure and organization
- Sharing settings and permissions (who has access to what)
- Shared links and their expiration settings
- Version history and previous file versions
- Deleted files in trash/recycle bin (retention period varies)
- Device sync history (which devices accessed what)
- Account identifiers (email, user ID, payment info)
- Usage logs (upload/download times, IP addresses, locations)
- Thumbnails and previews generated by the service
- OCR/content analysis data (for searchability features)
- Backup snapshots (may persist longer than active files)
